About Elizabeth Martin
Elizabeth Martin began her career in New York with Crown Publishers, and has made PR successes for Children’s Television Workshop (Sesame Street), Ralston Purina, King Features Syndicate, Consumers’ Union, the Museum of Television and Radio, and The Santa Fe Opera.
In addition to the PR! Success 3-month one-on-one program, Elizabeth gives speeches both nationally and throughout New Mexico on how to get good PR on a small budget, and she conducts group and individual workshops on how to establish successful relationships with the press.
As president of Elizabeth Martin Media and Public Relations, a consulting firm based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Elizabeth has worked with a wide variety of clients including The Santa Fe Opera, La Fonda, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, The College of Santa Fe, United World College, Native American Preparatory School, Lensic Performing Arts Center, and the Children’s Television Workshop.
Elizabeth is a member of the marketing committee of the Santa Fe Community Foundation, the leadership committee of the Railyard Park and Plaza, Santa Fe; and the advisory board of Moving People Dance Theatre, Santa Fe. Former board memberships include Cornerstones Community Partnerships, Santa Fe; New Mexico Press Women; the Pelham Art Center, New York; and the Stanford Settlement, Sacramento, CA.
Elizabeth has a B.A. in English from the University of Arizona. Her graduate work includes studies in Spanish at the University of California, Los Angeles, and in public relations, television and film at New York University. In 1989 she won the Public Broadcasting Company’s Advertising and Promotions Award for Sesame Street’s 20th season.
